At NetworkX 2025 in Paris, InCoax, Nokia, and Incognito will present a live demonstration of a 5G mmWave Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) extension designed for multi-user buildings. The showcase, held at the Broadband Forum's Member Pavilion, will highlight the practical application of the Multi-Tenant Fixed Wireless Access industry standard as a viable broadband solution.
The technology addresses the deployment challenges of 5G in Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs), where high-frequency 5G mmWave signals often experience significant attenuation due to building materials. The Multi-Tenant FWA architecture overcomes this limitation by enabling multiple apartments to share a single 5G mmWave connection received at an external location. InCoax's MoCA Access technology then distributes the 5G signal to individual units using existing coaxial cable infrastructure.
According to Dagens industri press releases, this commercially available solution was developed by a working group comprised of leading telecom and broadband providers. The demonstration will preview the system’s capabilities for operators to manage and deliver gigabit services within apartment buildings, serving as a foundation for future advancements.
